What is Nailcote Grange Neighbourhood Watch
Nailcote Grange Neighbourhood Watch was formed initially about eight years ago in Fein Bank soon after the estate was built. It was gradually expanded to include all of the 170 homes on the site, formerly Wickman’s Machine Tool factory, off Banner Lane, Tile Hill, Coventry.
Nailcote Grange NHW has its own Constitution, which can be found by clicking this link, and is an entirely voluntary organisation recognised by the National Neighbourhood Watch organisation and also by West Midlands Police.
Its primary aim is to make Nailcote Grange a crime and anti-social behaviour free community.
It has a chairman, vice chairman and treasurer, who are included in a small, but dedicated team of Co-ordinators, working in pairs so that each household has two contacts to whom they can talk with total confidentiality, if necessary.
Every household on the estate automatically becomes a member of the Watch Scheme. There is no membership fee and members can benefit by obtaining a discounts on household insurance, offered by many of the leading companies and brokers.
In the past we have hand-delivered “police alerts” – information warning of, or seeking information on crime – a quarterly four-colour newsletter, and crime prevention publications and aids such as ultra-violet marking pens attack alarms etc.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Grassroots Coventry fund of the Heart of England Community Foundation, we are now going “hi-tech” by producing this web site and disseminating our information by electronic means which can be accessed by each household.
This will speed up communications to those who have internet access, although the newsletter will be published here it will also continue to be delivered door-to-door.
We are also lucky to have the support of local business and businessmen residents, whose generous donations help to fund our work. Please support them if you can. Their logos and web links appear on the home page.
Nailcote Grange NHW meets frequently, usually at the home of one of the Co-ordinators, and any resident is entitled to attend. Details of meetings will be published on this site.
